Authorities in Abu Dhabi have announced the introduction of a new paid parking system in key commercial areas of Mohamed Bin Zayed City, starting April 6, 2026.
The initiative is part of a broader plan to improve traffic management, regulate parking usage, and enhance the overall urban mobility experience across the emirate.
11,000+ Parking Spaces Introduced
The first phase of the rollout will cover 11,030 parking spaces across high-demand commercial zones. Key areas included:
- Commercial sectors ME10 (6,666 spaces) and ME11 (3,758 spaces)
- Main commercial streets within villa zones Z17-01 (431 spaces), Z19 (108 spaces), Z20 (67 spaces), and Z27.
Parking Fees and Payment Options
Motorists will be required to pay:
- Dh2 per hour for standard parking spaces
Payment methods include:
- Darb mobile app
- TAMM platform
- SMS services
- On-site parking machines

Residential Parking Rules Introduced
In addition to commercial zones, nearby residential (villa) areas will also see new regulations:
- Parking spaces will be reserved for permit holders only
