New paid Parking areas announced in Abu Dhabi from July 2024
From July 29, Abu Dhabi Mobility introduced paid parking in two areas in Abu Dhabi and aims to improve the availability of parking in Abu Dhabi’s core areas. AD Mobility takes care of the parking hassles in the emirate. Mawaqif, a government entity under AD Mobility, manages and organises parking spaces in the emirate.
Abu Dhabi’s transport finalize the organisation and management of parking spaces and implementing long-term solutions in this area. It helps to achieve optimal use of public parking, reduce illegal parking, enhance city safety and security, and maintain the streets’ visual appeal.
Abu Dhabi Mobility reminds the public to follow the regulations for organising and managing public parking at all times. Vehicles should be parked correctly and systematically in allocated spaces, avoiding prohibited areas, and ensuring they do not obstruct traffic to maintain smooth traffic flow and community safety.

- Khalifa Commercial District and Etihad Plaza in Khalifa City
On which sectors does Abu Dhabi Mobility had paid parking?
The system regulates and monitors public parking in the capital city to ensure smooth traffic flow. The paid parking feature will be implemented in three sectors.
- SW2, SE45, and SE48.

Facilities available
The Mawaqif service will be activated, with complete works and Signboards installed. This initiative comes as part of efforts to minimise instances of illegal parking and improve safety and security. It makes the public parking system in an effort to inform individuals and businesses in the areas of the new changes. The parking spaces with different types and the charges are to be clarified by Mawaqif.
Mawaqif parking zones types
- Premium
- Standard
Premium Zone
- Signs: White and blue signs
- Fees charged: Dh3 per hour (Maxi. 4 hours from 8am to 12am).
Standard Zone
- Signs: Black and blue
- Fees charged: Dh2 per hour or Dh15 (for 24 hours). Free on Sundays and public holidays.
