Indigo Airlines has announced that it will discontinue the service on the Trichy-Abu Dhabi route from August 25, after operating four weekly flights from August. The airline started the service on August 11, 2024, saying it was suspending the service due to operational reasons. However, the suspension of the service for two months has left passengers disappointed.
IndiGo, which operates flights to Abu Dhabi from 13 airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mangalore and Lucknow, has announced that it will suspend flights on the Trichy-Abu Dhabi route from October 25. Aviation enthusiasts have said that this will often cause inconvenience to passengers. Since the Trichy-Abu Dhabi route has more passengers booked for outbound flights and the fares for the Abu Dhabi sector are higher than Dubai and Sharjah, travelers often prefer to fly to Dubai or Sharjah and travel to Abu Dhabi by road from there. While IndiGo has confirmed the suspension of these services for “operational reasons”, a decision on resumption will be taken later, it said.
