IIT Delhi will launch its campus in Abu Dhabi in January.

IIT-Delhi Director Rangan Banerjee stated that the institution’s first international campus will open in Abu Dhabi in 2024, further enhancing the UAE-India distinguished relations and joint cooperation, especially in higher education. IIT-Delhi is India’s premier technical education and research institution.

Rangan noted that the institution signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and the Indian Ministry of Education last June during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UAE. This occurred concurrently with the G20 Summit being held in New Delhi.

He emphasised that by emphasising areas like educational excellence, innovation, information sharing, and investment in human capital, the IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi embodies the shared goal of the two nations.

Rangan stated that in addition to participating in infrastructure planning, particularly for digital infrastructure, in collaboration with partners in ADEK and other pertinent entities, the institution will manage all academic matters for its new Abu Dhabi branch, including curriculum, labs, and research initiatives.

The Director of IIT-Delhi stated that the branch in Abu Dhabi would add value to the emirate’s research and innovation sector and that it would profit from opportunities for collaboration with organizations like the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) to offer integrated programs and cutting-edge research.
