A corporation or individual must have an Abu Dhabi license in order to conduct commercial activities in the United Arab Emirates. The process is governed and overseen by the Department of Economic Development (DED). Once you have obtained the license, you will be able to engage in the following activities.

A trade license is required for the following reason:
- Import and export your items to other countries.
- Participate in a variety of commercially connected activities.

Who is eligible?
- Only UAE residents may apply for this Abu Dhabi Mainland business license.
- Individuals are the only people who can own a corporation.
- Regardless of the nature of their commercial activity, non-UAE citizens may only register a Limited Liability Company (LLC).

Procedure required?
- First, select the type of license.
- Keep in mind that the maximum number of activities permitted per license is ten.
- Choose a suitable structure and legal status (LLC, sole proprietorship etc.)
- Select the name of the trade.
- Then submit your application for approval.
- After the initial approval, register the name of the trade.
- Locate a local sponsor and execute a Memorandum of Association (MOA)
- Find a site for your business and secure a tenancy contract.
- Collect all essential papers, including the Memorandum of Understanding and application form.
- Submit it for final approval to DED.

- Get an approved trade name from DED
- Passport copies of all shareholders.
- Copies of naturalization certificate.
Cost of trade license?
The cost of an Abu Dhabi trade license varies depending on the type of business you want to start.
Depending on the activity, between AED 30,000 and AED 50,000.
