What is a Hafilat Card?

Hafilat Card is a smart transport card which is used in buses, taxis. It automatically calculate and deduct the cost for your trip. You can swipe it in the machine reader placed inside the bus when you enter and exit the bus.

Cost / Fares of the trip using Hafilat Card

Local trips (inside the city): AED 2
Regional trips (suburbs): AED 2 + AED 0.05 per kilometer.
Inter-city trips: AED 10 + AED 0.1 per kilometer

What are the types of Hafilat Cards?

2. Personalized card

Hafilat Anonymous Card

Anyone can buy the anonymous card.

Cost: AED 10

• All branches of Lulu Hypermarket in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain city and Dhafra Region

1. Visit the website https://hafilat.darb.ae/
2. Click Recharge card
3. Enter the card serial number which you see at the bottom of the card

Hafilat Personalized Card

Personalized card must come with customer’s name and ID number. You can buy the card by providing any ID proof at the Customer’s Happiness Centres in Abu Dhabi.

• Documents required: Emirates ID, A letter from the educational institution where the student is enrolled.

Senior Citizen Pass

Travel unlimited local and regional trips with this annual pass. You can get a 50 % discount on the inter-city bus trips. You can also add with personalized card.

• Eligibility: 55 years and above
• Cost: Free
• Validity: one year (once you submit the required documents)
• Where to buy?: Customer’s Happiness Centres
• Documents required: Emirates ID.

People of Determination (POD) Pass

Travel unlimited local and regional trips with this annual pass. You can get a 50 % discount on the inter-city bus trips. You can also add with personalized card.

• Cost: Free
• Validity: one year (once you submit the required documents)
• Where to buy?: Customer’s Happiness Centres
• Documents required: Emirates ID, Medical report of the case or “Ounak” card or “People of Determination” card. (Escorts are only granted free bus trips while accompanying People of Determination)

How to check the Hafilat card balance?

If your card is not used for a year, balance will be expired and cannot use the card.

How to check the status of the Hafilat card?

1. Visit https://hafilat.darb.ae/Identification.aspx
2. Enter the card number to check the status

How to report the lost card and replace with the new card?

• If the hafilat personalised card is lost or damaged, you can report to the ticket office at the bus station. Your old balance will be restored and replaced with the new card.
• If the card is not personalised, you are not able to restore / get compensation of your old balance
