UAE Government School Registration 2026–27: Parents Urged to Enrol Children Before March 6 Deadline

As the 2026–27 academic year approaches, the UAE Ministry of Education is urging parents to ensure that student registrations in government schools are completed before the March 6 deadline. This is to prevent any missed placements and delays in the registration process.

What Parents need to know about Public School Registration?

The UAE government has officially reminded parents that enrolment for public schools — from Kindergarten through Grade 12 — will close on March 6, 2026. It applies for

  • New students (first-time enrollees) in Kindergarten and Grade 1
  • Transfers from private schools or institutes within the country
  • Students arriving from abroad
  • Moving from public and private general education to the advanced track for Grade 2 students
  • Students from Applied Technology Institutes
  • Students from public schools within the country

Note: Late registrations for government education are not accepted, emphasizing the importance of acting early to secure a placement for your child.

How to Register?

Parents can register directly using the Ministry of Education’s official website or through the UAE MOE smart app. Be sure that:

  • Log in using your UAEPass account
  • Fill in the form and attach the required documents
  • Receive school will check and accept the request online
  • An SMS of acceptance or rejection will sent through the system

How to Register Students in Government Schools?

New students enrolling in kindergarten, first, and second grades at government schools must complete the registration during the designated period of the academic year. The school’s application processed and approved via an electronic system for citizens and authorized individuals within a timeframe of three (3) working days.

When Does Registration Open for “People of Determination” in Government Schools?

  • A preliminary registration process is conducted to reserve a spot for the person of determination in the school through the service, where the guardian can schedule the most appropriate diagnosis appointment within 1 working day.
  • The person of determination who nominated for enrollment in the next academic year is diagnosed at the Integrated Education Centers within (15) days.

Registration of students in the Advanced Track (Elite Track)

  • Initial registration approval (conditional preliminary approval) granted within (3) working days.
  • Final approval after passing the test within (7) working days.​
