Abu Dhabi City Municipality Urges Public to Use Designated Barbecue Areas in Parks
Abu Dhabi City Municipality has called on residents and visitors to strictly adhere to using designated barbecue areas across parks and recreational spaces in Abu Dhabi Island and the mainland. The initiative aims to preserve the emirate’s civilised public appearance, protect recreational facilities, and promote responsible community behaviour.
The Municipality emphasised that parks and public spaces are designed to bring happiness to families and provide safe, enjoyable destinations for residents and tourists. Protecting these facilities ensures their sustainability for future generations.
“Darna, Our Responsibility” Awareness Campaign
The reminder comes as part of the Municipality’s ongoing awareness campaign, “Darna, Our Responsibility,” which promotes community engagement and compliance with regulations governing the use of parks and recreational facilities.
The campaign places special focus on proper barbecue practices, encouraging visitors to:
- Use only allocated barbecue areas
- Protect green spaces and trees
- Preserve park assets and infrastructure
- Follow responsible and environmentally friendly behaviours
Through this initiative, the Municipality aims to strengthen public awareness and foster a shared sense of responsibility toward maintaining community spaces.
Maintaining Park Cleanliness and Safety
As part of the campaign, park visitors are urged to:
- Avoid disposing of barbecue waste randomly
- Place burnt charcoal and barbecue remnants in designated concrete containers
- Use waste bins provided within parks
These measures help protect the environment, maintain high safety standards, and enhance the overall appearance of recreational facilities.
