What is the Darb Toll System?
The Darb toll system is Abu Dhabi’s smart road pricing mechanism introduced to manage traffic and enhance road efficiency. It applies to vehicles passing through designated toll gates during peak hours, with charges deducted automatically from the driver’s Darb account.

Toll gates are located on the main bridges leading into Abu Dhabi city:

Highlights of the New Tariffs (2025)
- Implementation Date: September 1, 2025
- Applicable Gates: Major entry and exit points in Abu Dhabi city
- Peak Hours: Monday -Saturday: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Morning) and 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Evening) on working days
- New Tariff Rates: Updated charges will vary depending on vehicle type and timing.
- Exemptions: Emergency vehicles, school buses, and certain eco-friendly vehicles continue to remain exempt.
**Note: Exemption for Sunday and Official Public Holidays.
Why the Change was made?
The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi updated the Darb toll tariffs to:
- Improve traffic management during rush hours
- Reduce congestion on key roads
- Encourage carpooling and eco-friendly transport options
- Support the emirate’s sustainable mobility goals under Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
What are the daily toll fees?
Toll fees are calculated on vehicles passing through the toll gates at specific peak hours only according to the approved implementing regulations as follows:

How much will it cost me to register my vehicles?
- Registration fees: 50 AED
- 50 AED is a balance for passing toll gates will be deposited in the financial wallet of user account.
Who are exempt from paying the Darb toll?
- People with disabilities
- Low-income families
- Seniors
- Retirees.
Removal of Daily and Monthly Toll Caps
- AED 16 per day (maximum)
- AED 200 per month for the first vehicle
- AED 150 per month for the second vehicle
- AED 100 per month for the third vehicle and any additional vehicles.
